Over £650,000 raised since the first challenge in 2013

A summary of the itinerary is set out below. Please note this is subject to change and nearer the time there will be a more detailed set of joining instructions sent to participants and available for download.  Final details will be confirmed on arrival.

Friday 22nd September

On arrival at the Low Wood Bay Hotel, Ambleside, LA23 1LP (T:01539 433338) please check in at the hotel reception.  Your room is paid for but you will need a debit/credit card for any room extras.

Then register with the "pie" team, the Challenge organisers from 5pm onwards.  You'll be given details of timings, bike fittings and storage, etc.

Dinner on the Friday night is at your own expense and choice.  You might choose to eat at the hotel or alternatively try one of the local hostelries in Ambleside.  Dinner at the hotel is served from 7pm-9.30pm.

Saturday 23rd September

If you arrive late on the Friday night and are unable to register, then please do so on the Saturday morning at 7am so that you can be fitted for your bike, etc.

Breakfast (included in your room rate) will be served from 7am onwards.

Transition bags should be handed over to the pie team for loading onto the truck between 7-8am, and the event and safety briefing will take place at 8am.

The Challenge will start from the hotel at 8.30am!

There are two legs to the Challenge ... the morning mountain bike or hike, and the afternoon hike.  For the bikers, we depart from the hotel grounds and en route will enjoy a rest stop half-way at the Skelwith Community Centre.  For the morning hikers, there is a short taxi ride to the start.  

Everyone will meet up for lunch at the transition point in Grasmere (at about 12.30-1pm depending on progress/weather conditions) before setting off for the afternoon hike into the Langdale Pikes. 

We finish back at Stickle Barn, where medals and a well-earned drinks will be waiting for you. A coach will then take all participants back to the hotel afterwards.

The celebration reception for Challengers and supporters will begin at 7.30pm and dinner at 8.15pm. Dress code for the dinner is smart casual.

Sunday 24th September

Breakfast (included in your room rate) will be served from 7.30- 10am.

Checkout is at 11am
